EZOBUGEBENGU-CRIME STORIES

TRUST

Waiting for the mini bus   in a windy Friday   afternoon at Sigamu  , came a young boy possibly thirteen or so, pointed a shooting pistil directly to my face at a very close range. ‘Give me that cellular phone’; He said. I gave him. He said ‘everything in your pockets.’ I handed my valuables to him.After giving him, he said ‘What do you think am going to do with this?’ He said while smashing my cheap cell phone onto the stony road.

Then he slapped me around the face, I saw the stars. I said to him ‘Why are you slapping me because you have already taken my R200.’ He said ‘shut up or else I disperse your dafty brain with a bullet!’  He then   clubbed my head with the gun and left.

From then I would be holding my head trying to relieve it as it was splitting.It happened while people around the area were watching. At last one boy and the girl  came to my rescue. He helped me by calling an ambulance. I hadn’t noticed I had a head injury from the bang of the pistol.

I don’t remember what happened after that but I found myself lying on the hospital bed. I asked the nurses   about the where about of my necklace and the wrist watch which the young thug hadn’t noticed. They said there had been none when they picked  me up of the van to the stretcher.

I asked about my helpers they said neither  girl nor boy were on the scene. Only middle aged man coupled with two women had actually brought me in with their vehicle. Infact I had been found lying flat along the road.LOVE EVERYBODY BUT TRUST NO ONE [FROM THE MINI BUS PHRASES]

'WHEN I WON  A LOTTO

I went to my bed at 12.00 being so tired as I had been travelling all the way from town on foot as there  had been no buses due to strike.

While lying in my bed I felt so warm and comfortable thinking about the day's events, remembering the time I spent in the harbour  searching for the  new job. Then I heard the phone rung. I took it. It was from one of my work collegues who told me about  someone who had called looking for me at work and she asked me to immidiatelly call her. She gave me the phone number. While I was about to dial it, phone rung again. It's a female voice  wanting my personal details  then congratulated me for winning R10 000 000

I jumped up in my bed remembering I had played Lotto that Wednesday then slept. I got up  and bed I went outside 'oh gosh its too late! Let me phone Shirley to confirm if she did phone me last night'. She said yes she did. I was so delighted then went to the Lotto ticket Office with my beloved lotto ticket. They gave me R10  000 000 check. I deposited it into my bank account still not believing my luck of being a millionare. I said 'from now  on I am going to finish my house extension'. Start some business. Then donate to the poor but I won't forget my collegues at work . I would give R1000 to each and everyone of them.

I came back to my bed and slept. While sleeping, something noisy disturbed me. It sounded like an ambulance  then I realized it was my clock. I got up and looked for my lotto ticket . I couldn't find it. I went to the computer  knowing very well that no one had phoned me the day before. It had been  just a nice dream. I googled the lotto numbers.   I found them.......There had been no winner of the  jackport  that night. I got the ticket . Not even a  single number from my ticket  matched  winning numbers.

                                                                                                                                                      2 THE BOOK OF GENESIS [genesis 3] [ZULU AND HIS  MASTER]

14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock  and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush[b] your head, and you will strike his heel.”

God said to the man

Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you;  through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life

18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.

 19 By the sweat of your brow  you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken;
for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

To the woman, He said,

“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

Zulu kept on repeating some of the words every  time when he was  working.

[“Cursed is the ground because of you;  through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life]

One day his master asked what he meant by his words. He replied,"My master I wouldn't be here if it wasn't  Adam the sinner. I would be at home with my wife and children enjoying fruits of life"

His master said , "No one is immune to sins. If it was you, you might have done the same."

He said, ''No-no-no I would  obey my Lord"'

He went on and on and on, critcising Adam. One day his master gave him a light job to be a custodian of his golden pot . He warned him not to open it up. Weeks and weeks  passed but kept on wandering  of the pot's contents . One day he decided to open it up. As soon as the lid move out the bird came out shooting like bullet. He rememberd the words of his master.He didn't know what to do. In the afternoon the master came back. He told him of what had happened .  He said, "I told  you, no one is immune to sins. Now you have learnt never  morn again."
